3D printed violin definitely is not the most spectacular
object created by this method, but it might be the most original idea ever.
Although it is difficult to say where they got the idea of
making such musical instruments, Alex Davies could soon enter the top 3D
printed art creators.
Overall, production costs associated with the violins, equal
to about $ 12. The end result, which is not very aesthetic, involved combining
several materials such as paper, plastic and some cheap wire. Although no
mention of a Stradivarius violin, if we only summarize the relationship between
price and performance, the result is unbelievable. As a small detail for a
personal touch, the neck instrument, resemble a classical violin, is made of
cardboard.
If further iterations of the concept will be a little more
presentable, it is not excluded that in a year or two to see an entire
orchestra with instruments made out of a printer. After all, most objects that
can be carved from wood, can also be 3D printed almost as resistant material.
