Andy Rubin withdraws from the position of head of Android

Without an obvious scandal or debate in the media, Andy Rubin withdrew yesterday from his position as director of Google Android terminal Division.

CEO Larry Page wanted to make the official announcement of the transition from Andy Rubin as head of the department where he supported and promoted the Android ecosystem. With about 750 million active devices at this time, it isn’t obvious why Andy Rubin withdraw from the post where his done very good job.

This position will be occupied by Sundar Pichai. He will hold both the position of vice president of Chrome and Apps and as chief over Android. If we combine the two position as a hint about what's next in the operating of Google systems, chances are that the line between Android and Chrome OS will soon become blurred.

In the worst case, this transition should be reflected by a definition of stronger links between the two creations governed by Google. Rumors about such tactics have existed since December 2010, with the release of Chrome OS. Given the immeasurable popularity of the Android operating system, now would be the best time for Google to try a bold move.

There is still no official information about Andy Rubin's next destination. Is likely that he will become the head of another division which will be reinvented or to bring it to the pinnacle of glory.

HTC is planning its own mapping system

Because Nokia has done a good job with its own mapping solution that worked a few years, HTC wants to try something similar.

Part of the aura of exclusivity that have terminals what Windows Phones ecosystem world is defined by a set of exclusive applications. Although many of them have come on other WP smartphones, Nokia did not hesitate to say that the best experience for applications such as Nokia Maps and Nokia Drive will remain no Nokia terminals.

HTC seems to want to try something similar on their smartphones. Several sources have confirmed that HTC wants to invest in its own solution for navigation and mapping. It is worth noting that these rumors are not the first incursions of HTC in an area led by Google, Nokia and in little extent, Apple. HTC Locations, was a Windows Phone application which unfortunately is no longer available on the online store of Microsoft applications. Although it is unknown whether HTC will try upgrading the application or if it will create its one from scratch, the company seems determined to create a competitive application.

Even if there are good chances that such a navigation solution to materialize remains to be seen if it will be available exclusively on Windows Phone or could just as easily be downloaded from Google Play at some point. Most times, such initiatives are very expensive, but considering the remarkable financial effort made last year with Beats, nothing surprises us anymore when it comes to HTC.

Rehabilitation program for hacking victims

Because more and more websites owners have problems with hacking, Google launched a new educational website on this topic.

To get the recovery process started when you see your website attacked by hackers, Google launched a new page called” help for hacked sites ". Thought of as a collection of videos and useful articles, the new website is designed to function as a tutorial for those who have had a problem with hackers or those who believe that they will be at some point. In principle there are several steps, more or less simple to put the site back up. To realize how simple they are, each guide has his difficulty level clearly marked beside the title.

If you can’t handle it in any way when it comes to the technicality of a website this page will help to detect the extent of the problem and hire someone who knows how to fix it. A simple test to see if you resolved the effects of the attack, is to see if you can reach your page from a Google search. A website infected with viruses or malware which you find through Google results will redirect you to a warning from the giant.

Www.google.com/webmasters/hacked/ came online in just a few weeks after several incidents that shook the world. At that time it was shown that employees' PCs from Facebook and Apple have been compromised by an integrated code in a web page. The guides are designed to make your website even more resistant in the future.

Reebok's fitness app

Most sport smartphone users use a dedicated application for managing activities, and Reebok entered this competitions.
Reebok Fitness is the first application the company designed to boost exercising among its clients.
Unlike other applications from Nike or Adidas, Reebok’s solution for the exercise does not monitor the evolution through the iDevice's sensors. Instead it offers advice, videos, and a combinations of physical activities for an effective workout. This category includes walking exercises, running, dancing, yoga or classical training. The application is designed for both iOS and Android operating systems more as a coach than as a dedicated timer that tells you how many calories you lost. To aid the application’s popularity if you do not like an exercise or a routine, via a simple touch you can change your exercise or the type of exercise.
In addition, the application offers video guides for amateurs. Just so you better understand the correct execution of certain types of exercise. Because a steady pace is most important, the same application will try to make you feel indebted with warnings and alerts designed to remind you to embrace the exercise routine that you defined. Doesn’t lack the integrated social element through which you can share your achievements on Facebook.
Passing over the fact that we are talking about a very well designed app which is also free, is the first time I see on the same page running exercises and yoga exercises. If you're curious to see the Reebok’s application to boost sports activities, you can download the application from Google Play and AppStore.

Google shoes

Because we do not have enough motivational accessories, Google has announced a project that includes sensors in shoes and smartphone applications.

Interestingly, however, this link between a smartphone app, a pair of shoes and some other smart features under open source operating system can experienced by anyone without a problems.
In practice, we don’t even have a well-designed product, but rather an experiment based on a pair of Adidas shoes. Before anything, the demonstration video below from Google at SXSW take part in the initiatives of Art, Copy and Code. The combination of 3 words defines a marketing program whose purpose is to show how we can use objects to tell online stories. “This description was made by Aman Govil, advertising director at Google.

Samsung Galaxy Pop

Galaxy Pop is the new smartphone launched by Samsung, which fits perfectly into the design lines of the older Samsung Galaxy S III.
If you’re not tired of the same rounded and glossy plastic casing, Samsung brings to the market a new smartphone similar to the famous Galaxy S III. Galaxy Pop is interesting but "common" in terms of external appearance. Why do I say that? Because although I appreciate the work the South Korean manufacturer, I can’t help of noticing that the new phones are other released versions of Galaxy S III.
Virtually all Samsung smartphones borrowed the lines, shape and design of last year's flagship, Galaxy and Galaxy Express and Galaxy Grand being just two examples found at MWC 2013. Leaving aside the form, the new Galaxy Pop boasts a 4.65-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels, a quad-core processor at 1.4 GHz, 1GB RAM, 8 or 16GB of internal memory, support for micro SD card and a 2100 mAh battery.
As we had expected in terms of camera, Galaxy Pop fits into the family to which it belongs, with an 8 megapixel camera capable of 1080p Full HD. Undoubtedly, the 4G LTE compatibility is one of the most important differences that set it aside from the rest of the Galaxy family, with a less common casing color: loud orange.
The new Galaxy Pop is expected to arrive in the near future on South Korean market with an unknown price.

Mozilla will not come up with a iOS version

Because Apple has upset many people because of rules imposed on AppStore browsers, the guys at Mozilla were very fierce in judging the Firefox for iOS.

Mozilla will not bring for the iDevice's a better version of the popular Firefox browser because of the restrictions that Cupertino imposes when it comes to  the decoding engine that third-party companies like Mozilla and Google are allowed to use . Basically, Safari will always have an advantage over iOS in terms of performance due to the Nitro engine, while all other browsers such as Chrome will be slower due to the web UiWebView decoding engine. Unfortunately, this distinction has existed since the first day in AppStore and no developer has managed to cheat the system.

In an interview a few days ago in the U.S., Mozilla vice president Jay Sullivan, attacked the problem all too clearly the problem of a Firefox for iOS. “Until Cupertino will relax its position on third browsers, Firefox will not come up with a version for Apple platform”. Simply because they want the browser or if you will ever get it for iOS to use the internal decoding engine IonMonkey, Firefox has a good chance of not getting in AppStore.

These radical manifestations come more than half a year after the browser from Mozilla, called Junior, arrived on Web clips using UIWebView. Back then, the explanation was quite different. “There are many reasons why we want to be on iOS, even if we can’t get there rendering engine.”

However, at present we have an explicit promise from the director, so I'm pretty sure that Firefox for is can’t be downloaded from AppStore for.

Google Glass parodies have begun

Let's face it: most of us do not skydive, nor are given a skateboard, reason why Google Glasses will be used in ordinary situations.
Even if we don’t see Google glasses in stores anytime soon, that doesn’t mean they can’t already appear on the internet parodies about the gadgets functionality.

The first video in a series of jokes available on YouTube can be viewed below. It shows a plausible scenario how an individual can use Google Glasses for ladies resorting to some tricks during a date. Personally, I would like to classify this short film only as a bad joke, but I'm afraid that most of us would rather be doing something similar to the individual. After all, did nothing to find out in real time from social networks about the ladies passions, sought some jokes that fit in context in order to impress her and took a picture with his partner’s cleavage.

Don’t this glasses will be often used in such interactions than those described by Google in the promotional materials?

Vuzix M100- The inteligent glasses

Vuzix M100 began to reach application developers rush to market launch.
Smart glasses made by Vuzix seem to have the main goal to launch it before the much publicized Google Glass.
In essence, smart glasses are quite similar to the Google Glass and until now have not enjoyed much attention from the international media. Therefore a good solution will be to launch as quickly as possible to get a good lead from the main competitor to Google. If you're wondering what would be good for these great glasses, you should know that Vuzix M100 is an extension of the smartphone in your pocket and more. You can access content, will help to shoot films, photos, run Android apps or take contact with augmented reality.
No matter how useful it may be, one thing is very clear, smart glasses are likely to become a new trend in terms of cool gadgets. Most likely in the near future we will see an explosion of these devices, but the real war front will give compatible applications, which help us in everyday tasks. Vuzix “tests the watter” with Vuzix M100, but considering the power and involvement of Google I find it hard to believe that the search giant is threatened in any way.

Long term remains to be seen how manufacturers will be able to improve and promote such devices designed to change the way we use mobile technology.

Street View's exposes infidelity in couple

Street View is known as a very useful function when it comes to determining a route or a destination.
We all know how useful can be the way Street View in Google Maps, especially when you need to get somewhere that I have not gone yet. Apparently this view of the map is "recommended" for exposing infidelity in a relationship. A woman from Russia, Marina Voinova, accidentally found her fiancé while looking for an address on Yandex Maps (Russian version of Google Maps).

The user noticed a Street View photo in which her boyfriend walks while holding arms with another woman. Basically Marina found a use for an app in a totally different way, without even noticing. After dealing with they broke up and this is how we found this new use for Street View.
The conclusion? I would say that whether or not we realize we are always supervised as technology advances, TV makers like Ernest will have less and less work.

Below is Marina’s story about the unique method by which she learned the unfortunate news, unfortunately in Russian that adds drama to the whole story.
